Now in its 31st year, Annabella Gonzalez Dance Theater has an original repertoire of 60 dances. AGDT is the leading modern dance company in New York City headed by a Mexican-born American.

In addition to superb dancing, great variety and humor in its full-length performances, AGDT also offers bilingual (English/Spanish) lecture demonstrations and residencies on various dance styles anywhere in the USA. For more information please email AGDT.

AGDT is the recipient of critical acclaim from major newspapers in New York and nationally. Read what the press says. The company enjoys grants from major governmental organizations, from foundations, and from corporate and private sources. AGDT has appeared on many stages, including Joseph Papp's Latin Festival, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, and offered a one-week educational demonstration in the Dominican Republic. Awards include an ACE Babby Quintero Award and a 2007 Proclamation by NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Next year AGDT looks forward to the prospect of performing in Mexico City.

Annabella Gonzalez - Founder & Director

Annabella Gonzalez, Mexican-born, is an experienced administrator and critically acclaimed choreographer, dancer and teacher. Trained in ballet, modern dance, and Mexican dance in Mexico, the United States and Europe, she performed in Switzerland and in New York before launching AGDT. She has created over 60 dances and teaches in the three language she is fluent in, namely English, Spanish and French. She holds an M.A. in Dance Education from Columbia University Teachers College and provides special educational programs on Mexican Dance with original videos, slides and photographs.
